Wild Namibian horse with a nursing foal

We got to Aus at noon. We ate lunch at Hotel Bahnhof. It’s a famous hotel built during the diamond rush in Namibia. The food was fantastic and they were so happy to see us. After lunch, we got back on the road and headed for the observation area to see the horses. The observation area is a special place where the parks authority puts out food and water for the horses. They are not always there, so we were really happy when we got there and saw horses. There were only three, but one was a nursing foal – very cool! We stayed for a while, then headed on to Luderitz.

We got into Luderitz and checked into a BnB called Alte Villa Boutique. It was really a nice place with a view overlooking the water. Luderitz is on the coast and there is a lot to see and do there. We spent the afternoon exploring. You can really see the German influence in the town and most of the buildings have been restored to their original beauty. We got to see Diaz point and Angra point, and a couple of the the bays. We even saw flamingos and seals!

We got back into town and headed to dinner. We ate at a Portuguese restaurant on the waterfront and it was excellent. We had an early morning the next day, so it was an early night.

Part 7 coming soon!
